58.6 miles

32°C ;impending thunder;very humid;steady SSE winds getting excited.

Still a bit de-hydrated after today’s cycle ride. I drank 3 litres of water while I was out and another 3 since getting home. My troublesome elbow has been no-problem today, but I must be careful. Nice elbow.

Returning to cycling is often problematic after a spate of illness, & I wasn’t sure in the first hour, but then I never am. Second hour onwards was all clear. The sunblock was very sticky – or at least it was if you are a fly, they just couldn’t get free.

this place provide sachets of sunblock to customers, which is such an excellent idea, it meant I could wash and not then get burnt.

Why can’t we have the ful set of emoticons from messenger here?

Cascading Style Sheets

27°C, very humid; no wind; 10/10 cloud

Getting somewhere with CSS. What seems good is that with a slingle lil’ file, I can made changes to the site without having to upload loads of altered pages, all that needs togo up is the altered style sheet. My worry now is the transfer from tables based pages to the new method with defined areas using the <div—> tag.
For now here’s some useful reading:

“The sun sure did shine this year”

27°C;very muggy, dropping wind (from the west)

Cycled to work against the headwind. Feeling fully recovered.

Get thinking cap on because I want to use CCS on my website. In case you didn’t know Cascading Style Sheets are small text files that control the formatting on your web pages. there seemto be some nice tricks that I didn’t know were available before, not just the coloured scrol bars. this blog’s formatting is all done with css anyway.

I’m with Cold

Health & unwellness

remember that cold I referred to last week, it’s still here. It’s got to the point of annoyingness, so I will try another tack, sleep really early- tonight try 22:30!

Sun

19°C, 6/10 cloud; W wind,

WOW it’s nearly half-past nine, and there is this orange blob on the horizon, just by the Cathederal. Have a look, it’s all squashy and flat along the bottom.

who isn’t guilty

So Jackson is found not guilty

Is that just because the prosecution is of poor quality? I can’t help feeling that actually both parties are guilty, M.J. of the charges that he himself admitted to in that TV program, and the prosecution for pursuing him for his money. MJ has suffered physically, but are we supposed to be sympathetic? The US jury says it’s OK for a 46 year old man to sleep with young boys, but from this side of the atlantic- we here can be sacked for merely touching a child on the shoulder. Another and probably separate issue, arises when MJs fans offer fanatical unthinking support. Fine- so he makes pop music that appeals to large numbers, but what are we to think of in the debate about role models for young black males? Here is a man who has spent vast sums of money concealing and removing traces of his racial origins. Why is it that he still has black fans amongst the crowds at all? He clearly does not think it is good to be black, it’s to be avoided at all costs it would seem. I realise that he is hardly a "normal " person and is not representative, but that doesn’t explain the worship he receives from those fans.

Jutland

18°C;NW gusty;3/10 cloud;occasional drizzle

New book, tricky one to decide which to get as there are so many. Only read the intro’ so far, but it already contains some juicy words:

"Flens"= flay, or slice up
"Stygian"= as in River Styx, a watery route to the isle of the dead. Heading towards the Isle of the Dead, but who takes them there in the greek myth?

Not a lot

Not much to to report right now, more when I am over this damned virus.
Or at least the stuff I am thinking over is not suitable for this arena. That’s a shame really because this is a good medium for clarifying my thoughts. Also that  wouild move this space away from the aim of logging progress of various artworks.

Hopefuly tomorrow I will feel alert enough to start that new painting, and finish the 3 that are lying around in this room. I’ll do a bit, and probably more video editing. Who ever thinks that graphic work on computers is quick ( because the computer does it all) is plain wrong.

Despirately need something to read  having just finished one book.
This whole entry is all tweenish

Karaoke … How?

Finished:Capture

All the main video clips are loaded, 15.8 Gigabytes in all. They are saved without compression, or at least as DV AVIs. The last Kareoke part will be the toughest to edit, it needs some colour space correction too. Got time to put together any animation elements now, but should really keep that to a minimum. Hmmm.. I wonder what applying gimmick effects to the kareoke section will do- maybe it’s a bad idea- but may as well play with it to see.

Still light at 22:15; 20°C, light NE wind, 6/10 coud cover. Much grass has been cut. The headcold is no better today.

Premier rough cuts

 22°C, 0/10 cloud, :. perfect

Doing more selection during the capture stage of that video, then shove it all in the timeline with Automate to Sequence maybe that’s a good way to do it, at least I get an idea of how long the whole thing is. Currently it’s an hour, waaaay too long, but I can see where to make cuts, there are quite a few quirky moments that could be left out.
How much can fit onto a single-layer DVD anyway?
