12°C, half cloud, no wind and dry.

Good ride with some considerable improvement in the tendonitis. It stiffened up a little in the last 5 miles, but that’s all. It’s all on the mend.

6°C, light W, cold but clear and dry (mostly).

Set out in a morning of sun with a grey cloud looming. The forecast promised 0% chance of rain but there it was. A small cloud but slow moving. I turned back home to get a better raincoat. The rain was slow enough to stay in for lunch and then go back out. The rest of the day was very good. Also, I used the green machines.

8°C, moderate S, dry but damp.
It’s tough riding into the wind for long periods on a single-speed. The muscle burn builds up and slows you down.
Kona Paddy Wagon; 15°C, sunny with light Northerly.

The Queen’s funeral is today and we get a bank holiday. This has cleared the roads and, pretty much, the only people you see are dog walkers and cyclists. Rather like a cup final, this makes for an excellent cycling day. It means I don’t have to avoid those routes that carry tricky traffic . I also means no cafes are open nor any shops. I got lucky though, about half way there was a petrol station where I got snacks.
17°C, moderate NW.

24.8 kph (mean) is quick for me, a bloke in his late 50s. I’ve barely ridden the Paddy Wagon this summer but I jumped on it today. With little time, I put the hammer down and rode swiftly. This is possibly the fastest ride of the year by me.I ran this m
I ran this morning too!
10°C, brisk chilly SSE breeze. Endless blue sky

Single speed ride with manageable SSW wind. Feeling fit and set a decent pace for March. Made possible by blazing sunshine in a cloudless blue sky.
7°C, light SW, Frey with drizzle at end

I declare 1 Metric Century. The GPS records 27 metres short but there is some leeway. The last half hour was dark which made it feel like a long day. Sunset is still 16.27. too early.
8°C, light SE, dry and light

There were plenty of other bike riders on the road this morning. Conditions were good too.
9°C, calm dry but grey.

A reasonable ride to Formby and back. The bike whizzed along in the still air. There’s lots of mud to watch for.
The previous rude was much slower and yesterday, I found out why. The rear wheel was very stiff so I serviced it. The cone bearing was very tight which must have knocked loads off the average speed. Mechanicals are usually an excuse for poor performance, but this time it was genuine.
7°C, calm and sunny
