capture video

that cold is here to stay for awhile. No cycling today

So instead:
Taking a break from editing the school trip video, the end of the first tape seems a good point. Actually I’m not really editing it as such yet, still capturing to the computer. It al looks good so far. There is plenty of footage as well as some excellent music to use.
definitely the best way to get into Adobe Premier.

Firewired

YEP!

It works, edited a test video now and am ready to do the tapes from Japan. So it was a faulty firewire card, now I have to come to trerms with the feeling of stupidity because I didn’t do it before.
We’re probably off to a concert tonight at the Birmingham Symphony hall, – not exactly sure what it is though.

This is not my world, I just live in it.

Annoyed by Fireworks

Yes, I have been annoyed with Fireworks, the kind made by Macromedia. Should be a simple job to add a new button to the navigation bar in my own website shouldn’t it?
But no, fireworks had to chuck in an obscure error, – the whole button bar is build using the button wizard, which means that a button image, plus all of it’s rollover states is based on a library system that updates as a reference file. So why this time did it decide to treat the new button as a slice and therefore disable the rollover java script? answers on a postcard please.

It took a few days to find the blunder, but deleting the slice layer got the blighter. Now it works, – thanks Macromedia.

Tomorrow I go up a hill.

More artwork updates in my next post methinks. But for now, a silly picxture, the dogs stole my shorts, then I found them, just look…

Links and blog updates

I’m beginning to notice some amusing trends here on this blog. It’s my blog’s first week tomorrow, and I’m getting a number of hits from christians. Perhaps they are attracted to the title or perhaps there are a lot of them in the blogging community; who knows.

So if you are a christian -then  Shoo!: off with you!

3D Head in Max 6

I know it’s may the 5th again, but it’s time to upload a picture of the 3D head started at school. It’s about 3 hours worth so far and the blue skin is the colour that the prog picks at random, but blue has it’s own appeal.

It was mostly built using polys and added to by shift+moving edges ( which in max copies teh edge and new faces at the same time. Max users will know what I mean by this. It should make the head easier to animate later without any nasty creases, but that will have to wait & see. The soft-rounded appearance is by a sub-division methos called Mesh-smooth. I’ve got a decent body mesh that could easily have this head fixed to.

It’s probably one of the better 3d digital head I have done, certainly the quickest to this level of completion. I’m getting faster at modelling in CAD.
