9°C, calm dry but grey.

A reasonable ride to Formby and back. The bike whizzed along in the still air. There’s lots of mud to watch for.
The previous rude was much slower and yesterday, I found out why. The rear wheel was very stiff so I serviced it. The cone bearing was very tight which must have knocked loads off the average speed. Mechanicals are usually an excuse for poor performance, but this time it was genuine.
7°C, calm and sunny

Kona Paddy Wagon, 10°C, dry (mostly) light S.

12°C, sunny dry

A week of heavy rain and then a cold. Though not quite back to normal, it was refreshing to get out.
15°C, brisk W, sunny and dry.

Uh-oh, how did that happen? There are plenty of clues. The wreck lies just beyond a sharp corner, the wipers are up and it rained last night.
Good ride, despite the strong wind on a fixed gear. Ideally, I’d ride the Racelite but the cassette I ordered last June still hasn’t arrived
19°C, light N, sunny and dry.

33km/hr indicated a good ride by my standards. The first half of this year has been disappointing on the bike for me. It’s possible that I had something like long covid after the Alpha infection at Christmas. I’ll never know for sure.
Here’s another sad rant from some conspiracy nutter. They’ve printed slogans and stuck this one to an ash tree in the middle of nowhere. That itself is futile enough without unwittingly publicising their ignorance.
This was a satisfying day.
8°C, brisk NW, full sun.

Feeling good : beautiful weather though cold.

7°C, light NE, no cloud.
A short outing that felt like a real effort, like it does when I’ve had a few days off. November and December have been much wetter this year.
11°C, drizzle, almost still.

15st 10lb, what a shock the scales were recently! I need to cut the sugary snacking.
